One cannot kill Children. I even fear to scold them. They are our future. Humanity evolved into this technological era just because those ancient parents wanted to safeguard their children from the forces of nature.
My dad skipped his proteins, vitamins and minerals in meals so that I can grow. And I have grown taller than Him. He sacrificed his career growth to see me grow and I am growing in intelligence and stature.
When I see those other kids around Me. I see them Exceed me in knowledge, in growth. I feel Secured whenever I see them. Because the healthier our children are, the longer they live and the smarter they become, they give proof that we are progressing in the right direction.
When I see a Kid doing wonder full things, I dont See that kid as a competitor for the kids in My family. I see them as enablers. Because whatever our kids become, they are part of this society. A Kid who becomes the next Edison will make the lives of my children easier, A child that becomes the Next Valluvar or Ilango or Bharathi Will take My language and culture to the next level.
Hold. But When I see that news of hundreds of children that got slaughtered, I Just saw the exact opposite to what I had been thinking all the while. This happens because Pakistan as a nation just has not thought on what they want their Children to become. They donot need sympathy or empathy after this tragedy. They need to look back on what they have done all the while. From the days when they stood silently after unleashing the pathans in Kashmir to the latest incursions into Kashmir and Afghanistan, they have just stood by when those geopolitics and internal political necessities wanted their children to take arms and fight a enemy that is just living in a distant mirage. Those mothers should have stopped their sons from taking up guns and matchettes. Those fathers should have stood up to the corrupt political establishment that has pawned the responsibility of running a nation for the money from west and Arabia.
We are not speaking about a medieval warlord run nation. We are speaking about a Modern democracy. We are speaking about that one Islamic nation that has produced Intercontinental ballistic missiles armed with Nukes. We are speaking about a Modern industrial nation that can build Submarines and war planes. A modern economy that earns through computers. But that apathy of the General public towards these political looters Is what is striking. Whenever a Dictator arises out of that corrupt politico-Military nexus, they just stand by and watched them loot. Even When their nation is starving out of the recent flood they were rallying behind those warlords. Whenever I read news about the sufferings in Pakistan I used to wonder why they are not looking around themselves? They have transformed their dream for a progressive Islamic state into ruins.
They should think on, from now atleast, what they want for their children, and what they want their children to become.
